Charan & Puneet's Out Of This World Wedding at Dallas Burston Polo Club
Dallas Burston Polo Club · Warwickshire, UK
Five hundred and fifty guests, a theme called Out Of This World, and a running order that went from a drumline of ten dhol players to Jazzy B live to four Kudos DJs back to back. We built the room as the venue's in-house team, then we ran the party in it.

The night in motion

The room
Planets over the tables, a moon on the screen
Krystal Wedding Decor hung planets over black and gold tables under a canopy of crystal chandeliers, and we washed the IXL Events Centre in deep blue and violet so that from the doors it read as night sky, with a moon on the screen while people ate. Sanjay Foods fed 550 people, and Syrup Bar ran a rectangular feature bar with backlit cosmic panels at the far end of the room.

The stage
A stage that lit up with the music
The DJs and Jazzy B played from a curved stage with a strip of LED along its front edge, so the stage itself moved with the music: stars during dinner, the couple's names for the entrances, full motion once the floor opened. A big curved screen behind the decks and two tall screens at the sides meant the back tables saw every drop. A printed walkway led from the stage to the dancefloor, and that is the path the couple took for their entrance and again for the first dance.

The music
Dhol, Jazzy B, then four DJs
A drumline of ten dhol players brought the couple in. Jazzy B played live. Then DJ H, DJ Arvee, Jas Johal and DJ Harv shared the decks for the rest of the night, on a d&b system we had tuned for the room that afternoon. With 550 people and a band-sized stage, we wanted the low end to carry to the back tables without flattening the ones nearest the stacks. It did.

The first dance
Low fog, then CO2
For the first dance we filled the floor with low fog, so Charan and Puneet were dancing on cloud with a single light on them, and the second the song ended the CO2 went and the floor was open. Cineture filmed it and Didar Virdee photographed it, which is why there is a first dance film on this page and not just our word for it.

What we delivered
